How to Prepare for Your Visit (Pre-Procedure Preparation):

• Avoid alcohol and caffeine (coffee, energy drinks, strong tea) for 48–72 hours before your procedure—they dehydrate the skin and increase bleeding.

• Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for 48–72 hours (or longer if possible): aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, fish oil/omega-3, turmeric, niacin, ginkgo, ginseng, etc. If prescribed by a doctor, consult them first.

• Stop using retinol/Retin-A, acids (AHA/BHA, glycolic, etc.), and strong exfoliants in the treatment area for 2–4 weeks prior.

• Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, or self-tanners for 2 weeks—your skin should not be tanned or sunburned.

• For eyebrows: No waxing, tweezing, threading, or electrolysis for 1 week before.

• Schedule Botox or fillers at least 4 weeks before (or after) your PMU appointment, especially near the brows/eyes/lips.

• On the day of your procedure: Skip intense workouts, saunas, or anything that causes heavy sweating.

• Arrive with clean skin—no makeup, creams, lotions, or sunscreen in the treatment area.

• For lip procedures: If you have a history of cold sores/herpes (HSV-1), you must start an antiviral (Valtrex/Valacyclovir, Acyclovir, or equivalent) 3–7 days before, on the day, and after—follow your doctor’s dosing. Without this, the procedure can trigger severe outbreaks and affect results. If active herpes is present, reschedule.

• Consult your doctor beforehand if you have any health concerns or questions.

• Come well-rested, after eating a light meal, and in comfortable clothing—the session can take 2–3 hours

After the Procedure (Post-Procedure Expectations):

• Healing is gentle and takes 5–30 days, depending on your skin type and the area treated.

• Protect the area from direct sun (use SPF 50+ after full healing), water, sweat, makeup, pools, saunas, and steam for at least 10–14 days

.
• Do not wet, rub, pick, or scratch—let scabs/crusts fall off naturally.

• Apply a thin layer of the recommended ointment (e.g., provided balm, Aquaphor, A&D) 2–3 times a day.

• With proper care, your results will look amazing and last a long time!
